Registration
All Center classes have enrollment limits as designated in the course description. Please register early to avoid disappointment. The Center reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration.
Tuition
Full tuition must accompany your registration. Payment may be made by check, money order, or MC/Visa. Tuition paid for one term may not be credited to another term.
Registration Fee
There is a $6.00 registration fee due once per person per term. If your tuition for the term totals $25 or under, the $6 registration fee will be waived. This fee is refundable only if your class is cancelled, or if our changes render you unable to attend.
Checks
Please make checks payable to CCAE. There is a $10 charge for checks returned due to insufficient funds.
Filled Courses
If your course is filled, you will be put on a wait list and notified of a choice to transfer or receive a refund. If you paid by credit card your account will not be charged. If you paid with separate checks for each course, your check will not be deposited. In most circumstances, we require at least six people to be registered in order for a class to run. If your class is cancelled, we will notify you at least one day before the class is scheduled to begin. If you need more notice, we suggest you call the Center to check the enrollment. If your course is cancelled, you can either request a full refund or transfer to another course of your choice, space permitting.

Refunds, Course Credits, Transfers, And Withdrawals
We regret that no refunds or course credits can be granted on or after the start date of your class or event, except as described below:
Center-initiated cancellation or schedule change:
If the Center cancels your course, or changes its schedule such that you are unable to attend, we will refund your payment. You may choose to receive a course credit instead.
Withdrawing from a course
If we receive your request to withdraw at least two business days before the start time of your course or event, you may receive either:
- a credit towards any course within the next three years, or
- a refund (minus a $10 refund processing fee)
Events under $25 are nonrefundable; you will receive a credit as described above. The $6 registration fee is nonrefundable.
Transferring to another course:
- You may transfer out of a one- or two-session course or program provided you notify us at least one business day before the start time of the first session.
- You may transfer out of a course with three or more sessions provided you notify us prior to the second session.
There are no refunds for transfers, but price differences may be applied to another course within the next three years.
If you are dissatisfied with your course
If you feel that your class was not satisfactory, the Center will issue you a course credit for the full dollar value of your course fee (materials fee not included; valid for three years from date of issue). We require that you give us written feedback, and do so within one month of the completion of the course.
Single Admission
To try out a course, single-session admission tickets may be purchased for most courses at the time of the class (space permitting). Prices range from $18 to $45. These tickets do not hold a space in the class. If you decide to register for the remainder of the course, the balance will be due at the time of registration.
Make-ups and Weather Cancellations
Meetings will be made up for classes postponed by holidays, instructor’s request, or extreme weather conditions. Call the Registration office at 617-547-6789 for storm cancellation information. Students may not make up absences by attending classes other than their own.
Liability
Participants in Cambridge Center programs do so at their own risk, and agree to waive and release any and all claims of personal injury or property damage they may have arising from this participation against The Cambridge Center for Adult Education, its agents, employees or faculty. The Center can not be responsible for personal property in our buildings.
Policy of Nondiscrimination
The Center welcomes students of any race, color, sexual orientation, religion, disability, gender expression, and national or ethnic origin, and does not discriminate in the administration of and admission to its educational programs.
Accessibility
For questions about accessibility, please call 617-547-6789 ext. 203. Upon request, we will provide reasonable modifications for qualified individuals with disabilities. Please give as much notice as possible. We will refund your payment if reasonable modifications are not available.
Guarantee to Our Students
The Cambridge Center’s goal is to provide high quality programs to the community we serve. While we are proud of the fact that most of our students report a high level of satisfaction with our courses, we recognize our responsibility to those whose class did not fulfill their legitimate expectations. If you feel that your class was not satisfactory, or you are not satisfied that the course delivered what was promised, the Center will return the full dollar value of your course fee to you in the form of a course credit voucher (materials fee not included; valid for three years from date of issue) under the following conditions: 1. That we receive a written request for the course voucher within one month of the completion of the course. 2. That you complete a Cambridge Center course evaluation, or otherwise give us written feedback on the course. Note: Course materials will not be included in the voucher amount.
