Leslie K. Brown

Leslie K. Brown, PhD, is an independent curator, scholar, and educator who has lived Cambridge’s Baldwin neighborhood since 2001. She earned a PhD in the History of Art & Architecture from Boston University and an MA from the University of Texas at Austin. Brown specializes in the History of Photography and Modern & Contemporary art.

An award-winning educator, Brown has taught as an adjunct lecturer across New England, including at Boston University, College of the Holy Cross, Lesley University, Rhode Island School of Design, Simmons University, Wellesley College, and University of Massachusetts Boston. A former curator at the Photographic Resource Center and current freelance arts professional, Brown has also worked as a museum educator at the Austin Museum of Art and Cheekwood Museum of Art, where she oversaw teaching and scheduling volunteer docents. She is a native of Rochester, NY and the product of a Kodak family.
