Nancy Falco Chedid

I am an educator, writer, musician, and physician. I’ve devoted more than two decades
to teaching – the best job in the world -- both in the Boston area and in the Middle East.
Among my published works are a memoir; a narrative on life lessons learned from my
patients; and a critically informed essay in the journal Life Writing about my personal
struggle with the inextricable social, physical, and emotional ills afflicting Lebanon. I am
proud to have launched the Humanities-in-Medicine and Mental-Health-and-Wellness
programs at Lebanese American University School of Medicine, and I have been an
invited speaker on Narrative Medicine at the American University of Beirut. As well, I
have joyfully mentored numerous aspiring student writers. My degrees include a B.A. in
Music from Yale University and an M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of
Medicine.
