Woodworking

Develop knowledge, respect, and skill with hand and power tools through completing individual woodworking projects and mentoring. Learn about tools, woods, joinery, and sound construction techniques. Make a Shaker-style end table or work on a modest project of your own and learn the finer details of woodworking, including tending to your tools and sharpening. Students should plan on spending between $50 to $150 on materials depending on the scope of their projects. It is recommended that students have taken the Build a Box class or have comparable experience. Instructor: Carl Spagnoli

Carl Spagnoli

As a professional custom woodworker, Carl has been making things in woods of all kinds for over three decades, including furniture, doors, windows, and architectural restoration, with the occasional antique repair as well. His approach has always included a balance of traditional hand tool skills with an appropriate blend of power tool woodworking in order to honor the very long tradition of woodworking that spans at least 3000 years of humankind.
