Acting Workshop: The Basics *In-Person*

Explore the basics of acting for stage and film. We will work with scripts from contemporary plays and films, connecting our efforts to the work of living playwrights and film directors. We will use theater games and improvisation, having fun while taking chances. We will cover the audition process, what casting companies seek in an actor, and practical tips about the industry and how to get work as an actor. Instructor: Dewayne Nelson

Dewayne Nelson

Dewayne Nelson has been an actor in Boston for over 13 years. He is a member of the Screen actors Guild. He has performed in community theater productions as well as landing commercial work for TV and film. Some of his credits include, All My Children, TV ads for Nike, visa, AJ Write, Dunkin Donuts, the History channel, PBS and featured in films like the Zoo Keeper, Ted and Sergeants. He had trained with TVI actor's studio in New York as well as training with Boston base professionals.
