Advanced Beginning Jewelry: Prong-setting Sea Glass or Found Objects

This continuation of the Beginning Jewelry Workshop series further builds on the essentials of fabricating stone settings in sterling silver. We will focus on more complicated techniques in soldering, piercing, and forming to create a large-format prong-setting for irregularly-shaped sea glass or a found object. Students will receive a materials kit with everything needed for the project, including: sterling silver sheet and wire, sea glass, solder, burnisher, and more. A materials fee of $40 is payable to the instructor at the class. Students are welcome to bring their own special piece of sea glass or found object to create a setting for (size limit is 1.5”).
