Winter Birdwatching in Boston

Ever wondered where the birds go in winter? Some of them are still here if you know where to look while others come from far afield to join them. In fact, winter can be the best time to see some of the more unusual ducks and water birds. We’ll study some of the species, learn where to find them and discuss how birds cope with the stresses of the season. We’ll also take a brisk walk along part of the Emerald Necklace (Jamaica Pond and Olmsted Park) in search of these snow birds. This class is ideal for complete beginners, those who have taken the introductory Birdwatching for Beginners class or anyone who just wants to get out and enjoy the winter weather.
