Painting Space: Indoor & Outdoor (Studio School)

In this class, we will seek to solve the spatial problems of creating an indoor/outdoor painting. We will separate this complex subject into its two elements, working both inside and outside of the studio. Our in-depth discussion of how this puzzle can be solved will cover a variety of pictorial elements such as drawing, value, and color relationships, and will be supplemented with demonstrations and historical examples. Instructor: Jeremy Durling.

Jeremy Durling

Jeremy Durling began to draw and paint from the figure at the age of sixteen through a high school dual enrollment program. He moved on to Massachusetts College of Art, where Nancy Mccarthy and Christopher Chippendale would become his mentors. It was at Massart that Jeremy first studied with George Nick.
