Writing the Unspeakable: A Poetry Workshop and Trauma *NEW*

Just about all of us have lived through grave loss. Many of our lives have also been touched by trauma. For both, there are the words we turn to first, but then there is a strange and brave language. It's a language learned by paying close attention. This class will explore the particulars of grief and trauma. This workshop is for poets who are utterly willing to "shoot from the hip". We will gently turn away from self-pity, roll up our sleeves, and wrestle with the unspeakable. Through pared-down language, we will write poems that are forceful and generous.
