Beginner Abstract Painting *In-Person*

Abstract art covers a vast amount of different art-making styles and strategies. This beginner-level class will help you focus on the wide world of abstract painting and allow you to practice examining, discussing, and creating your own abstract artworks. Each class will introduce you to a particular style and we will study famous historical or contemporary works as examples. Classes will also cover basic acrylic techniques. There are many different ways to think of and paint an abstract picture, so this class will begin with exercises based on shape, color, and composition Instructor: Rachel DeLuca

Rachel DeLuca

Rachel DeLuca is a visual artist living and working in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Salve Regina University in 2016 with a B.A. in Studio Art, concentrating in Painting. She continued her studies at Boston University and received an M.F.A. in Painting in May 2018. Her work combines her interests in both realism and abstraction while investigating themes of place and memory.
