Painting the Interior: Interior Light (Studio School) *Online*

This class will explore the complex subject of painting an interior space. We will work one step at a time from a combination of direct observation, photo reference, and invention. We will begin with drawing and color studies and use these to inform a larger final painting. Our goal is to better understand how to capture light and perspective in this complicated environment. Can be paired with Painting through the Window for a 2-part course. Experience in drawing and painting in oil or acrylic is required. Oil paint is the preferred medium, but students who are comfortable using acrylic are welcome to do so. Instructor: Jeremy Durling

Jeremy Durling

Jeremy Durling began to draw and paint from the figure at the age of sixteen through a high school dual enrollment program. He moved on to Massachusetts College of Art, where Nancy Mccarthy and Christopher Chippendale would become his mentors. It was at Massart that Jeremy first studied with George Nick. Massart's prestigious George Nick prize allowed Jeremy to spend 5 months seeing Europe and studying in Florence.
