Indian Street Food: Puri and Chaat *NEW* *Online*

When we talk about Indian street food, we’ll think about Mumbai as the center of Indian street food full of carts on the street. In this online interactive class, we’ll make sweet tamarind chutney, cilantro chutney, pani puri water, and crunchy masala rice crispy mix. You’ll learn how to assemble bhel puri, dahi papdi chaat, and pani puri. You are welcome to cook along in this online class or just watch and learn. The list of ingredients needed including which puris and papdis to buy will be emailed to you prior to the class along with the Zoom link. Instructor: Pooja Bhatia

Pooja Bhatia

Pooja Bhatia grew up in a joint family, with 17 people living under the same roof (her grandparents and her dad's siblings, their spouses and kids). It was a very memorable childhood filled with lots of love and laughter. Her family has been in the food business for almost a century. She started learning to cook at a very young age. She and her cousins were forced to help out in the kitchen: chopping veggies, frying samosas, and making desserts. But, what seemed like a punishment back then, has made her grow into an excellent cook! Growing up, she lived in both Dubai and Mumbai. This exposed her to a variety of cultures and has vastly influenced her cooking. Now, she lives in California and she has taught people with no cooking experience to become experts in Indian cooking. She loves meeting people from all over the world and sharing her passion for food with them. She has been running a small Gourmet Food Business for the past 4 years now.
