Trained as an engineer and nearing the end of his career as a software developer and physician, Hayward Zwerling, M.D. wanted to know: What should I do to ensure I have a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement? After reading more than 100 scientific publications and gathering insights from numerous experts and his patients, Dr. Zwerling developed his Designing Your Retirement methodology - a roadmap to a better retirement. Dr. Hayward Zwerling retired from a career as a physician and owner of a medical software company. In an attempt to ensure he had a fulfilling retirement, he reviewed the scientific literature which was relevant to the subject of retirement. Employing the skills of an engineer and physician, as well as insights into human nature acquired from his patients, he created “Designing Your Retirement,” a scientifically-grounded process people can employ to ensure that they have a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement. Ultimately this led to his “Designing Your Retirement” lecture, essay, and video accessible at IHaveAnIdea.us/DesigningYourRetirement/.
