Objects and Space: Still Life and Landscape Painting

This class involves both outdoors painting the landscape en plein air and indoor still life painting. Outside we will explore deeper spaces, learn about aerial perspective, and simplify the landscape to its essential elements. Indoors, we will explore setups of both traditional and non-traditional objects, painting the still life from direct observation. Topics include composition, color mixing, paint application, and how to begin a painting. Painting and drawing experience a plus; portable easel needed for outdoors. Instructor: Brett Xavier Gamache
