Learn American Mah Jongg

Learn to play this fun and fascinating game which combines the old Chinese set of tiles with American rules and strategies. We will cover all aspects of the game, progressing through familiarity with the tiles, building the wall, dealing the tiles, mastering the card, understanding the Charleston, betting, and strategy. A game of skill and luck, rules and informal conventions, Mah Jongg often bonds a table of friends. Come join in! Laura Zoll

Medieval Musicologist; Mah Jongg enthusiast

Laura received her ALM degree in Medieval Studies from Harvard University, with a focus on medieval musicology. She also holds a B.A. in Music (Theory and Composition) from Brown University. She was the founder and director of a London-based school teaching creative music workshops to children, as well as a professional singer of early music. Laura also is a Mah Jongg master, teaching skills and advanced strategy to all levels of players.
