Polish: Beginner Level 2

Polish is a West-Slavic language, the official language of Poland and one of the official languages of the European Union. After numerous waves of emigration since the beginning of the XIX century around 10 million people speak Polish around the world in addition to the approximately 38 million of speakers who reside in Poland. One of the largest Diaspora communities is located in the US where Polish is spoken by 3.5 million people. Join them with a patient and experienced instructor who can guide you through this unique and interesting language. Beginner Level 2 is for students who have at least 10 hours of classroom time in Polish within the last year, can ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need in Polish, and can use simple phrases and sentences to describe where they live and the people they know. Following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference, students at this level will learn to identify common words concerning their immediate concrete surroundings, read very simple sentences, ask and answer simple questions on very familiar topics, and write a short, simple note.
