The Spring Art Exhibit which features works by thirty nine Cambridge area artists will be open until June 2, 2017.

ELLEN STUTMAN:
Since the mid-1970s, Ellen Stutman has been teaching at CCAE. Stutman teaches drawing to beginner level students who have little-to-no drawing experience, working with them to develop self-confidence in a supportive environment. Stutman describes, “I love that wonderful moment when [students] suddenly realize, “I can do this!” then the actual learning process can take place.” Her own work is inspired by nature, and she has recently been exploring a new medium with woodcuts. Stutman holds a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and an MFA in Painting and Art Education from Boston University. Recently, Stutman has been featured in Scout Cambridge magazine. BRETT GAMACHE:
Brett Gamache has been teaching drawing and painting in the Studio School at CCAE since 2010. Gamache holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA in Painting from the University of New Hampshire. In the classroom, Gamache focuses on how to see the subject in terms of line, shape, form, color, and composition. He often tells his students, “all art is abstract” when broken down into shapes and color relationships. Gamache has recently been painting live surfers, working quickly to capture the life, light, and excitement of the ever-changing surf. Gamache will be teaching some fun and interactive art classes as part of CCAE fundraising gala Of Course! on April 29. View more information on Of Course! here.
