Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8 pm. Admission is $3, tickets are available at the door.
Eileen Myles
Eileen Myles (they/them) came to New York from Boston in 1974 to be a poet. Their books include Pathetic Literature, For Now (an essay/talk about writing), Evolution, Afterglow (a Dog Memoir), I Must Be Living Twice: new and selected poems, and Chelsea Girls. The Trip, their super-8 puppet road film, can be seen on YouTube. Eileen has received a Guggenheim Fellowship and was recently elected a member of the American Academy of Arts & Letters. They live in New York and Marfa, TX.
Anja Konig
Anja Konig grew up in the German language and now writes in English. Her first chapbook, Advice for an Only Child, was shortlisted for the 2015 Michael Marks Award for best pamphlet – and her first full collection Animal Experiments was nominated for the 2021 Laurel Prize. She won the 2019 Stroud Poetry Competition. Her chapbook Species is now out from Bad Betty Press.
