Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $5, tickets are available at the door.

Henri Cole

Henri Cole was born in Fukuoka, Japan to a French mother and an American father. He has published eleven collections of poetry and received many awards for his work, including the Jackson Prize, the Kingsley Tufts Award, the Rome prize, the Berlin Prize, the Lenore Marshall Award, and the Medal in Poetry from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He has also published Orphic Paris, a memoir. He teaches at Claremont McKenna College.

William Logan

William Logan writes poetry and a little criticism. His most recent books are Rift of Light, Dickinson’s Nerves, Frost’s Woods, and Broken Ground: Poetry and the Demon of History. His reviews appear in the New York Times Book Review, the New Criterion, Poetry, Hudson Review, Hopkins Review, and other journals. Logan has received the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism, the Aiken Taylor Award in Modern American Poetry, the Staige D. Blackford Prize for Nonfiction, the inaugural Randall Jarrell Award in Poetry Criticism, the Corrington Medal for Literary Excellence, and the Allen Tate Prize.
