Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $5, tickets are available at the door.

Wyn Cooper

Wyn Cooper's sixth book of poems, The Unraveling, will be published in May 2026 by White Pine Press. His first novel, Way Out West, is available from Concord Free Press. In 1993, “Fun,” a poem from his first book, was turned into Sheryl Crow’s Grammy-winning song “All I Wanna Do.” He has also published five other books of poems.

Alan Shapiro

Alan Shapiro’s recent books are Dress Rehearsal for the Truth: essays on poetry, identity and belonging (2024); By and By, (2023), and Proceed to Check Out (2022). His new book of poems, Diver, will be published in April 2026 by Unbound Editions.
