Nancy Ishihara
Nancy Ishihara loves teaching and sewing! She began her career as a computer programmer then pivoted to teaching math after her kids were born. Her sewing career goes back even further to her own childhood. Since then she has been designing and building costumes for actors and singers from age 5 to 70. She is also a quilter and a shibori fabric dyer.
She currently teaches math to adult learners in Cambridge and has combined her skills by using sewing and costuming as the context for teaching measurement.
When she isn’t teaching or costuming she can be seen biking all around Cambridge and Boston, learning Japanese and attending the theater!
