CCAE Policies

Tuition

Tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration. Payment can be made with credit card, cash, check, or money order. Please make checks payable to CCAE. There is a $30 charge for checks returned due to insufficient funds.

Registration Fee

An $8 registration fee is charged for any class whose tuition exceeds $25.

Only one registration fee is charged per person per term. The registration fee is not refundable if you withdraw from a class.

The fee is refunded if CCAE cancels your class or if CCAE’s changes to the class schedule prevent you from attending. This does not apply to individual classes rescheduled due to inclement weather or other significant factors beyond CCAE’s control.

Minimum Enrollment

All CCAE classes have enrollment minimums and limits. CCAE reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration.

Waitlist

If a class is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist. If a spot becomes available, you will be notified by email and will have the opportunity to claim the seat by phone on a first come, first served basis.

Transferring to Another Class

For classes that are three sessions or longer, contact the registration office before the second meeting of the class in order to transfer. For one- and two-session classes, you must contact us at least five business days before the start of the class. If there is a difference in price, we will issue a class credit or there will be a remaining balance to be paid. Refunds are not given.

Withdrawing From a Class

If you withdraw seven days or more before the start date of a class, we will issue you a class credit (valid for 18 months from the date of issuance). If you prefer, we will refund the class tuition minus a $10 processing fee. Withdrawals from classes and events under $25 are only eligible for a class credit; no refunds are given.

If you withdraw six days or less from the start date of a class, we do not issue class credits or refunds.

Cancellation and/or Schedule Changes

CCAE reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment or other considerations. If we cancel your class, you will receive a class credit good for 18 months from the date of issuance or, upon your request, a refund. Please call our registration office to request a refund.

If CCAE changes the class schedule before the class begins such that you are unable to attend, you may receive a refund or a class credit upon request.

This does not apply to individual classes rescheduled due to inclement weather, other significant factors beyond CCAE’s control.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance is available on a rolling basis. For information on our scholarship program, visit here, or contact the registration office at info@ccae.org.

Single Admissions

To try out a class, single admissions may be purchased for most classes at the time of the class (space permitting). You may not use a single admit toward classes with fewer than five sessions, food and wine classes, Studio School classes, boot camps, events, off-site classes, and classes with tuition less than $50. Prices range from $18 to $45. These tickets do not reserve a space in the class. If you decide to register for the remainder of the class, the remaining balance of the tuition will be due at the time of registration. You may only apply one single admit once per class.

Make-Ups & Weather Cancellations

CCAE will offer make-up date(s) for classes postponed by holidays, instructor’s request, or extreme weather conditions. Please check our website for storm cancellation updates. Students may not make up absences by attending classes other than the class for which they are registered.

Liability

Participants in CCAE programs do so at their own risk and agree to waive and release any and all claims of personal injury or property damage they may have arising from this participation against Cambridge Center for Adult Education, its agents, employees, or faculty. CCAE can not be responsible for personal property in our buildings.

Policy of Nondiscrimination

CCAE welcomes students of any race, color, sexual orientation, religion, disability, gender expression, and national or ethnic origin, and does not discriminate in the administration of and admission to its educational programs.

Accessibility

For questions about accessibility, please email us at info@ccae.org or call 617-547-6789. Upon request, we will attempt to provide accommodation for qualified individuals with disabilities. Please give as much notice as possible. We will refund your payment if accommodation is not available.

Guarantee to Our Students

Our goal is to provide high-quality programs to the community we serve. While we are proud of the fact that most of our students report a high level of satisfaction with our classes, we recognize our responsibility to those whose class did not fulfill their legitimate expectations. If you feel that your class was not satisfactory, or you are not satisfied that the class delivered what was promised, CCAE will return the full dollar value of your class fee to you in the form of a class credit (materials fee not included; valid for 18 months from date of issuance) under the following conditions:

  1. We receive a written request for the class credit within one month of the completion of the class.
  2. You complete a class evaluation or otherwise give us written feedback on the class.

Typographical Errors

CCAE reserves the right to correct the listed price of a class or other errors due to catalog or website misprints.

Photos

We may occasionally take pictures of students in our classes for use in promotional materials. Your enrollment in a class indicates your approval for this.
