Community Event: A Message for You: What Unites Is Greater Than What Divides Us *NEW*

Join us during the last week of the exhibition,Vessels, for an interactive event designed to foster greater understanding across our community.

Based on the concept behind edible artist Linda Khachadurian's sugar sculpture featured in the exhibit, attendees will be paired with those against whom they might hold preconceived biases, based on identifying labels such as political party, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexuality.

Participants will engage in guided conversations, using discussion prompts created by the artist, to encourage those who might view each other as adversaries to discover their shared commonalities. Afterwards, each attendee will write a kind note to their discussion partner and place it inside the sugar box sculpture. At the end of the evening, these messages of goodwill will be retrieved and read aloud to the  group, creating a ripple effect of positivity and connection.
