A Crash Course in Astronomy *In-Person*
From exoplanets to exploding stars, and dark energy to the Big Bang, this course offers a front-row seat to the most fascinating phenomena in the universe. You'll learn how astronomers have decoded the secrets of the night sky and explore the mysteries we cannot yet explain. Topics include our solar system, the life cycle of stars, compact objects, galaxies, dark matter, cosmology, and how astronomical instruments work. The course will aim to combine observation with computation: two sessions will be interactive stargazing nights with a portable telescope and binoculars, while hands-on computer simulations will let you model orbital mechanics, predict comet trajectories, and explore phenomena like tidal forces and planetary perturbations.
