David Montenegro

David Montenegro’s interviews with writers on literature and politics were published in Partisan Review, American Poetry Review and elsewhere and are collected in his book Points of Departure: International Writers on Writing and Politics, published by University of Michigan Press. (The writers included are: Adrienne Rich, Bapsi Sidhwa, Carolyn Forché, Derek Walcott, Isabel Allende, Joseph Brodsky, Linda Ty-Casper, Seamus Heaney, Stanislaw Baranczak and Yehuda Amichai.) He received a B. A. in French from Towson State University in Baltimore, with a main interest in nineteenth-century French poetry. He has also received a fellowship in poetry from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. He has lived in Boston for many years and is from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
