Gregory Liakos
Gregory Liakos is a communications leader in the arts and humanities, with more than two decades of experience leading campaigns to support artists, cultural institutions, and education. As Director of Communications and External Affairs for the Mass Cultural Council, he served as senior leader for New England’s leading funder of the arts, humanities, and sciences. He crafted and led strategic communications campaigns that substantially expanded the influence and impact of the agency and its work. He was previously head of public relations for the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA, where he directed media, community, and government affairs during its $125 million institutional transformation. He also served two terms on the Wakefield School Committee, including one as Chair. A former award-winning journalist with several Greater Boston publications, he holds a BA from Assumption College and a History MA from Tufts University. He also serves on the Board of Arts/Learning.
