Hannah Spiegelman

After graduating with honors in history from Goucher College, Hannah Spiegelman sought a way to combine her academic background with her creative outlet and passion for food and flavor. In February 2017, she started creating ice cream flavors that told a story through their ingredients. A Sweet History was born, an ice cream concept inspired by people and places in the past. Hannah strives to tell forgotten or ignored stores, focusing on women’s history and smashing myths. By using ice cream, a universally beloved treat, as her artistic medium and educational tool, Hannah is able to encourage and widen learning. Over the past five years, A Sweet History has hosted workshops, taught online classes, designed exhibits, participated in pop ups, provided dessert for ticketed dinners, and worked on custom commissions.
