Kate Petterson
Kate Petterson received her BA in art history from the University of Rhode Island in 2010. Post-graduation she taught English in a high school in Italy, where she used art history to foster class discussion. As a museum educator with Historic Newton for three years, Kate taught K-12 and adult learners about 18th and 19th century American history. She is a community-oriented educator and enjoys highlighting stories that bring to light untold history. In 2021, Kate graduated with a master’s degree in Anthropology and Archaeology and a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from the Harvard Extension School. She is currently the Education and Programs Senior Coordinator at The Preservation Society of Newport County in Newport, RI.
