Matteo Casini

Born in Parma, and raised in Lombardy, Matteo went to Venice for his undergraduate studies, and after that he became a passionate scholar of the history of that city, Europe and the Mediterranean. He completed his BA and Ph.D in European History in Venice, specializing in the Renaissance and Early Modern period. Since 2006 he started working in Boston, at UMass and Suffolk University, living in between Boston (Fall-Spring) and Venice (Summer). He published many scientific essays, attended many conferences and gave many specialized courses, but he has also passion for cinema and Afro-American music. Moreover, he did an extensive lecturing and teaching outside the academic environment, both in Italy and the US, because he firmly believes that his research and passions must be presented to the general public.
