Paul Karpuk

Paul A. Karpuk is a Professor Emeritus at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut. He received a B.A. in Russian and History (emphases in Russian and U.S. history) (double major) from Stanford University in 1976, and an MA. and Ph.D. In Slavic Languages & Literatures from the University of California, Berkeley in 1979 and 1987 respectively. His Ph.D. dissertation was on Nikolai Gogol’s unfinished historical novel “The Hetman,” which has largely determined the direction of his research, dealing generally with the writer’s tales set in Ukrainian history, on which he has published eight articles.
