Cambridge's Black Community: Seizing Freedom and Creating Community *In-Person* *NEW*

From the time of its earliest settlement by European colonists, Cambridge has had a community of Black residents whose lives and work have shaped the city. Whether enslaved or free, Black Cantabrigians have created communities for themselves over the centuries, and their stories are fundamentally intertwined with the development of the city and its neighborhoods. This course will explore the diversity of the Black experience in Cambridge, delving into the rich history of these communities and the ways they are tied to the history of the greater Cambridge area.
