Film Music, from Vaughn Williams to John Williams *In-Person* *NEW*

Imagine the shower scene in "Psycho" without Bernard Herrmann's screeching violins ... now that's a scary thought. In fact, movies would lose an entire dimension of entertainment value without the musical scores that accompany so many of them. For more than a century, the music behind the movies - whether a tinkly piano or a symphony orchestra - has elicited powerful emotions and reactions: laughter, tears, terror, and many more. For a niche audience, the arrival of a new Hans Zimmer soundtrack is akin to the release of the latest Rolling Stones album for rock fans. We'll take a look (and a listen) to how and why film and music are made for each other.
