You've learned several basic chords and strumming; what's next? In this continuing class, elevate your skills to move to the next level. Learn how to play barre chords fluidly, strum interesting rhythms in a variety of genres, and enhance your strumming with cool percussive techniques. Learn to play and sing a wide variety of songs and know which strum patterns to use. We'll investigate how to make intros and outros sound cool and pave the way for exploring fingerstyle uke.Instructor, Amy Kucharik

"Kerrville New Folk winning songwriter Amy Kucharik [/kuh-CHAR-ick/] performs as a one-woman band with ukulele, foot percussion, mouth trumpet and harmonica, or with her Boston-based ensembles Tiger Moan and Friends With Benefits. She teaches and performs at ukulele workshops throughout New England, including the Ukulele Melee which she headlined in 2018. She founded a new ukulele festival in Somerville, MA in 2019, Somerlele. In 2018, Amy was selected as a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist, and released her second full-length album of original music. Amy was a formal showcase artist at SWRFA in 2015, WFMT Folk DJ Rich Warren’s pick for the DJ showcase at NERFA in 2016, and was selected as a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist for 2018. Her second full-length album of original music, ""Until the Words Are Gone,"" was released worldwide on June 1, 2018.
