Beginner Drawing *Online & In-Person*

A carefully planned series of exercises will introduce the beginner to the following elements of observational drawing: perspective, composition, light values, and contour. Students will begin by learning how to accurately measure and observe objects and the world around them. Classes will include instructor demonstrations and exercises in contour drawing, tonal drawing, and gesture drawing with plenty of time to practice in class and receive feedback from the instructor. Nicholas Anthony Mancini

Nicholas received his BFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA in 2009. He has been an apprentice to Odd Nerdrum in Stavern, Norway as well as an Artist-in-Residence at Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati, OH. In 2015 Nicholas was awarded an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant as well as a Constantin Alajalov Scholarship. In 2016 he received the Boston University Anderson Ranch Printmaking Scholarship. Nicholas finished his MFA at Boston University in 2017, receiving the John Walker Graduate Award. Nicholas was recently awarded the Umbrella Artist Residency In Concord for the year 2018-19.

Jeremy Durling


Jeremy Durling began to draw and paint from the figure at the age of sixteen through a high school dual enrollment program. He received an Associates Degree from the Mount Wachusett Community College with a concentration in painting under John Pacheco. He moved on to Massachusetts College of Art, where Nancy Mccarthy and Christopher Chippendale would become his mentors. It was at Massart that Jeremy first studied with George Nick. Massart's prestigious George Nick prize allowed Jeremy to spend 5 months seeing Europe and studying in Florence. He graduated from Massart with a BFA in painting in 2009, and continued his lessons with George independently. He studied with George for a total of four years. Jeremy is represented in Boston by the Sloane Merrill Gallery. Website:
