Aperitivo Letterario: Italian Book Club *In-Person*

​Enamored with Italy and the country’s literature, history, and culture? Come to share some classic literature, novels, and contemporary fiction with a glass of wine! This term, we will discuss Goliarda Sapienza’s autobiographical memoir, L’università di Rebibbia (1983). A visceral account of the author’s imprisonment in Rome’s Rebibbia jail, offering a profound reflection on freedom, solidarity, and human dignity through her encounters with fellow female inmates. Required reading before the class: L’università di Rebibbia by Goliarda Sapienza. High intermediate level (CEFR B2 and above) required.
