Learn how to create a stunning and delicious cheese board perfect for entertaining or a cozy night in. In this hands-on class, the instructor will guide students through selecting a balanced mix of cheeses, charcuterie, and flavorful accompaniments, along with tips for thoughtful pairings, visual composition, and crowd-pleasing presentation. Students will build their own board while gaining practical skills they can use for future gatherings, celebrations, or weeknight treats —plus inspiration for wine pairings to elevate the experience. Jacob Lavoie is the Program Director for Food & Wine and Science & Nature at CCAE and an enthusiastic instructor who brings curiosity, collaboration, and creativity into the classroom. With a background in wine and spirits, arts and culture, and lifelong learning, Jacob is passionate about making food and wine approachable, engaging, and rooted in shared experience. His teaching style emphasizes foundational skills, thoughtful exploration, and connection. In addition to food and wine classes, Jacob has taught theater, dance, and pottery, experiences that inform his dynamic, hands-on approach to teaching.
