Russian: Beginner Level 2 *Online*

Beginner Level 2 is for students who have at least 10 hours of classroom time in Russian within the last year, can sound out Russian words written in Cyrillic script, can ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need in Russian, and can use simple phrases and sentences to describe where they live and the people they know. Following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference, students at this level will learn to identify common words concerning their immediate concrete surroundings, read very simple sentences, ask and answer simple questions on very familiar topics, and write a short, simple note. Students will also look more closely at the cases of nouns. Instructor: Katya Maher

Katya Maher

Katya Maher holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from UMass-Boston. She is a native speaker of Russian and has over 10 years of experience teaching Russian and EFL/ESL in Russia and in the U.S. She has been teaching at the CCAE since 2004.
