Russian: Beginner Level 3

This level is for students who have at least 30 hours of classroom time in Russian within the last year, have a basic command of the language, are familiar with everyday expressions, and can make very simple sentences. Following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference, students at this level will learn to identify the highest frequency vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance, read very short, simple texts, communicate in routine tasks requiring a simple exchange of information on familiar topics, and describe their families, educational backgrounds, and jobs. Students will also delve into past and future tenses of verbs. Instructor: Katya Maher

Katya Maher

Katya Maher holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from UMass-Boston. She is a native speaker of Russian and has over 10 years of experience teaching Russian and EFL/ESL in Russia and in the U.S. She has been teaching at the CCAE since 2004.
