Blake Maddux

Blake Maddux first became fascinated with the 1st Amendment and the Supreme Court in a class at Harvard Extension School. That prompted him to take electives in constitutional history and constitutional law en route to earning a master’s in journalism in 2013. His thesis, “The Espionage Act in the Age of Wikileaks: Are There Legitimate Legal Grounds for Limiting Freedom of the Press?” won a Dean’s Thesis Prize. Since then, he has worked as a freelance arts journalist, frequently interviewing musicians and nonfiction authors and previewing and reviewing concerts and new music. Blake was born, raised, and educated in Ohio and moved to the Boston area in 2002. He and his spouse, LeAnne, live in Salem, Mass., with their 8-year-old twins, Elliot and Xander, and their cat, Tessa.
