Paul Vădan

A native of Transylvania, Paul Vădan earned his doctorate in Classics and Ancient History from the University of Chicago and has travelled to the West Coast where he taught Classics and Humanities at Reed College. He subsequently decided to relocate to Denmark, where he conducted research on violence against migrants in the ancient Mediterranean space at the University of Copenhagen’s Saxo Institute.

Paul has always been fascinated with the history of cognition and, to that end, he was Research Fellow at Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies where he explored how ancient leaders and thinkers conceptualized our modern concept of ‘risk’ to render an uncertain future more predictable.

Paul is passionate about coffee, dogs, Internazionale Milano, and Greek cuisine.
