Peter Littlefield

Peter Littlefield has spent 30 years re-imagining opera for companies in the U.S. and Europe, including San Francisco Opera, New York City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Theater Basil, Prague National Opera. Handel's Partenope, co-directed with Christopher Alden at the English National Opera, won the Olivier Award for Best New Opera Production. He participated in the New York downtown scene for many years, writing and directing original work at the Kitchen, the Pyramid and other theaters and clubs. His recent adaptation of Peter Pan, for the Fischer Center for the Performing Arts, was called "a stranger, sexier version" by The New York Times. He studied with the playwright/director Maria Irene Fornes.
