Devised Film and Theater Production *In-Person* *NEW*

What would happen if the worlds of film and theatre combined? Film and theatre majors unite! This unique class will apply the theory of devised theatre to every facet of the film production process. Devised theater, also called scripting from the body, is a collaborative theater creation process based on ensemble work. The process includes Anne Bogart's "Viewpoint" improvisation, experimentation, creative dialogue, and a contemplative approach to the craft. This will be an ongoing project throughout the term that encourages experimentation with structure, technical technique, and tone, culminating in the completion of a short film using these parameters. This not only applies to the creative decisions of the cast and director but also to camera operation, lighting, sound, and post-production. This class is recommended for experienced film and theater practitioners.
