Shibori Tie-Dye Workshop *In-Person*
Join us for an introductory workshop exploring the basics of shibori! Shibori is a traditional Japanese resist dye technique that uses a variety of textile manipulation methods to produce different patterns when the fabric is immersed in indigo dye. Experiment with tying, folding, stitching, compressing, and twisting fabric to create your own unique shibori masterpiece. Instructor: Lena Borovci

Tuition for this in-person section includes the cost of materials. The materials kit provided will contain a dye kit and fabric. Students are welcome to bring additional white cotton t-shirts to dye.

Lena Borovci
Lena Borovci is a costume designer and stylist living and working in Boston. Her experience spans a wide spectrum of work ranging from witty and lush 18th century period costumes to innovative contemporary devised pieces. Lena holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Design from Carnegie Mellon University - School of Drama and she is the recipient of the USITT's prestigious Zelma H. Weisfeld Costume Design & Technology Award in 2013. In the same year her work is recognized by Costume Society of America with the Early Career Award of Excellence in Costume Design & Technology. Her most recent work includes designing Svadba for Boston Lyric Opera, award winning feature film Vera Dreams of the Sea and styling for Bank of America commercials.
