Beginning Jewelry *In-Person*
In this multi-week class, beginning jewelry students will learn to design and fabricate their own handcrafted jewelry. Students will learn how to texture, file, form, solder, sand, and polish as they make different projects, which may include a ring, bangles, and bezel-setting a stone. All materials will be provided. There is a $50 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Instructor: Laura Jaklitsch

Laura Jaklitsch
Laura Jaklitsch is a jewelry artist and instructor in Somerville, MA. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Laura holds a BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and has been making jewelry since 2005. Laura has worked in the jewelry industry extensively as a bench jeweler and in cosmetic restoration of fine watches. She was the 2016 recipient of the Society for Contemporary Craft’s LEAP Award and has appeared in publications such as Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist and the Lark Books title Chains, Chains, Chains: 25 Necklaces, Bracelets & Earrings. Her work is carried by galleries across the country.
