ESL Beginner Levels 1 & 2: Integrated Skills *In-Person*
This class is for beginner students who would like to work in a systematic way on their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Focus will be on grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, spelling, and simple conversation. Students at this level will learn to identify common words concerning their immediate concrete surroundings, read very simple texts, converse on very familiar topics and master everyday situations, and write a short, simple note. Sylwia Gierczak
Sylwia grew up in the beautiful, historic city of Cracow, Poland. That’s where she acquired a passion for languages and completed, in addition to her legal studies, her bachelor's degree in English. Sylwia has over 10 years of experience in teaching English, both in Europe and the US. She worked with students of varying ages, skill levels, cultures, and economic backgrounds. Because of diverse experiences, she puts great emphasis on an individual approach to each student and a pleasant, fun classroom atmosphere.
John Coleman O'Donnell
John was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Montreal, PQ. His educational background includes a BA in political science and an MA in political theory from Notre Dame University in South Bend, IN. He has been teaching ESL for 15 years in the Boston area. John is married to a Brazilian woman and has visited Brazil three times. He is learning Portuguese and completely empathizes with second language learners, since Portuguese is not an easy language to learn!
