Spanish Wine Tasting *In-Person* *NEW*
Spain has been making wines since the time of the Romans. The Spaniards have developed wines and styles that have both similarities and differences from the rest of Europe. We tend to see older wines than we would normally see elsewhere. In recent times, many of these wines have emerged on the international scene. Join John Fiola as we explore the world of Spanish wines. We will explore the traditional regions such as Rioja, but will also explore the up and coming regions such as Rias Baixas and beyond. John’s passion for wine began when his competitive running career was winding down. His introduction to wines started by volunteering to get the wines for a holiday dinner one year where he met a fabulous retailer who got him hooked. A chemist by training, and after taking numerous wine courses geared for the consumer, he entered the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) certification program. John holds the WSET Diploma (with Merit) and is a Certified WSET Educator. He is also a Certified Wine Educator (CWE) with the Society of Wine Educators. John has been teaching wine courses in the Boston area since 2006 and thoroughly enjoys the education aspect of wine.
