Levatine Arabic: Beginner Conversation *In-Person* *NEW*

In this class, students will build on what they learned in Beginner Level 4 and continue listening, interacting, and creating stories together as a group. Through the context of discussing and acting out these stories, students will learn how to introduce themselves and communicate their own stories with increasing complexity in texting and in verbal communication. Students will practice reading and writing text messages, a format that primarily uses casual, spoken Arabic language. In addition to the classroom stories, students will be exposed to authentic contemporary media in Levantine Arabic, including popular songs and videos. Students taking this level should be familiar with reading and writing all Arabic letters and no longer rely on transliteration and use the most common verbs and words for storytelling in the past and present time frames.
