Basic Acting for the Stage *In-Person* *NEW*
Are you ready to confidently step onto the stage and explore the craft of acting? In this class, we will explore various approaches and acting methods to help you find your unique voice as a performer; we'll cover the essential techniques, including text analysis, how to create believable characters and understand their motivations, character development, physicality, and vocal work. In addition, we will do scene work, monologue preparation, and in-class improvisation exercises. By the end of the course, you'll have gained the tools to walk into any audition room confidently. With a background in classical performance and years of experience as a Shakespearean actor, Cameron's teaching philosophy emphasizes unlocking the text and finding each actor's unique voice. In their classes, whether it's Basic Acting for the Stage or Decoding Shakespeare, they focus on building student confidence, fostering collaboration, and developing the skills necessary for auditions, cold reading, and scene work. Cameron encourages students to explore, experiment, and discover their connection to the material while creating a supportive, engaging learning environment for actors of all levels.
