French: Beginner Level 2 *Online & In-Person*
French is the official language of 29 countries. It has a long history as an international language of literature and scientific standards and is a primary or second language of many international organisations. French has been called one of the three most useful languages for business by Bloomberg Businessweek. Join their ranks in this series of engaging courses, emphasizing spoken production and interaction. Beginner Level 2 is for students who have at least 10 hours of classroom time in French within the last year, can ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need in French, and can use simple phrases and sentences to describe where they live and the people they know. Following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference, students at this level will learn to identify common words concerning their immediate concrete surroundings, read very simple sentences, ask and answer simple questions on very familiar topics, and write a short, simple note. Cecile Galatoire
Cecile Galatoire is a French native who holds degrees in French Literature (Master's degree) and Education (Master's degree in Education and Training, and a French as a Foreign Language certification for students of all ages). She taught and served as pedagogical counselor in French and bilingual elementary schools/preschools. She also has a 10-year background as an editor in Paris, France.
She loves the cultural diversity in adult education classes, as well as the students' dedication for learning at every stage of their own journey. Her priority is to pay a special attention to everyone's needs in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. She also focuses on offering a variety of tools, games, situations of communication in order to develop in each student a sense of competency in every aspect of the language.
Neha Coureil
Neha Coureil was born and raised in India. She started learning French at 13 and went on to do a Masters in French from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. After teaching at the Alliance Française de Bombay for a few years she entered the corporate world of French multinational companies. Subsequently, an MBA from the HEC School of Business in Paris proved to be the steppingstone to an international career in Europe and Asia. She moved to the United States in 2007 with her husband and has since been involved with non profit organizations in New England. Joining CCAE as an instructor has allowed her to combine her love for the French language, movies and teaching!
