Beginner Oil Painting *In-Person*
Join us for an introduction to the materials and mechanics of oil painting as well as the fundamentals of visual language. Jeremy Durling began to draw and paint from the figure at the age of sixteen through a high school dual enrollment program. He received an Associates Degree from the Mount Wachusett Community College with a concentration in painting under John Pacheco. He moved on to Massachusetts College of Art, where Nancy Mccarthy and Christopher Chippendale would become his mentors. It was at Massart that Jeremy first studied with George Nick. Massart's prestigious George Nick prize allowed Jeremy to spend 5 months seeing Europe and studying in Florence. He graduated from Massart with a BFA in painting in 2009, and continued his lessons with George independently. He studied with George for a total of four years. Jeremy is represented in Boston by the Sloane Merrill Gallery. Website: jeremydurling.com

Bahareh Safarani
Bahareh Safarani. (Persian: بهاره صفارانی; born 1990) is an Iranian visual artist who lives in Massachusetts. Known primarily for her innovative video-painting and video-performance arts. As an interdisciplinary artist her creative practice exists at the intersection of visual art, new media, and performance. After moving to Boston, Massachusetts, and securing her graduate degree in studio art (MFA, Northeastern University, 2016), she began to incorporate video projections onto her paintings. Her works, charting a path from their signature “video-paintings”—video overlays of choreographed movement projected onto figurative oil-on-canvas paintings—to new pieces that reflect the fluidity of her outlook. She has held numerous national and international exhibitions and performances. Her works have been collected by The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Morris Museum in New Jersey and Akron Art Museum in Ohio.
